When I was younger I would have cried and screamed if I saw an animal die in front of me. But as I grew up I began to block out all thoughts concerning the process of slaughter for meat. I reasoned, “everyone accepts it” “it’s healthy to eat dead flesh”… The billion dollar meat and dairy industry likes to give us pretty cartoons, pretty labels, pretty marketing strategies of “organic” “farm fed”. But in reality, we all know the truth. We just don’t like to admit it. To have meat on our plates means that murder took place. A gun to a head. A knife to a throat. We all know animals are controlled and killed just for our own pleasure, yet we don’t like to think too much about it. Do you think of the life you are eating when chopping in to a cheeseburger? The environmental strain of that process? Probably not. Can you imagine eating dogs, cats, wales for dinner? No, that would be “gross” “unethical”… Why? Because we have been taught to discriminate. Why do some animals like dolphins, dogs and monkeys get the western approval, love and government/group protection? But pigs, cows and chickens don’t? This may seem aggressive of me or like I’m trying to persuade you to live a certain way… But please know this: I’m am not telling you what you should or should not eat… I’m simply telling you who I defend. These beings were free, man enslaved them. It’s up to you to see through the propaganda and realize the situation for what it really is. Your dollar is supporting the mass murder of innocent animals. They did nothing to you. They feel pain and love just like you. They do not deserve this cruelty… Would you enjoy watching your “steak” being sliced out of a cow? Enjoy watching the innocent animal struggle out of the truck? Enjoy watching the life go out his or her eyes? The blood drain from it’s throat? The gun pierce through it’s head? You wouldn’t enjoy it because you are human. You are capable of compassion. You are capable of deciding what’s right and what’s wrong. Don’t let the media, the people that profit from the cruelty, decide for you. It’s your choice.
